Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval, your profile picture is visible publicly in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images, avoid embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from public images.

Cookies

Comment, login, and screen preference cookies may be used for convenience and security. Login cookies are temporary or persist for the selected Remember Me period. Article editing cookies expire after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles may include embedded videos, images, or other content. Embedded content behaves as if the visitor visited the other website, which may collect data, use cookies, and monitor interaction.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How long we retain your data

Comments and their metadata may be retained indefinitely. Registered profile information is stored while needed for the account and can be edited or deleted subject to administrative, legal, or security requirements.

What rights you have over your data

You can request an export, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold, subject to data we must retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Payments and downloads

Payment details are entered directly with the selected hosted payment provider. Demo Cates does not store full card numbers. Download links are private and tied to the purchase entitlement. Each paid link can be used once.

The cart uses browser storage to remember products between pages. Necessary security and payment cookies may be set by the hosted checkout provider.
